Las Vegas Park, a sprawling urban green space, materialized during this critical period, becoming a powerful emblem of Portoviejo's determination to rebuild and thrive. Its construction marked a pivotal moment, signifying not just physical recovery but also a renewed sense of community and hope.

Located centrally within Portoviejo and alongside its namesake river, Las Vegas Park spans an impressive 107,000 square meters. Since its completion in 2018, the park has transformed into a vibrant communal heart, drawing families and individuals alike. The comprehensive overhaul of the Prudência Building's ground floor, orchestrated by Gui Paoliello Arquiteto, represents a sensitive yet decisive intervention into an architectural landmark. This 2022 project breathes new life into the entrance and communal spaces of a structure that has stood as a beacon of modernism in São Paulo's Higienópolis neighborhood since its completion in 1948. The renovation respectfully updates the building's function and aesthetic for contemporary use, spanning an impressive 2797 square meters, ensuring its relevance for future generations while honoring its storied past.

The Prudência Building itself is a testament to mid-20th-century architectural innovation, a ten-story residential complex that was pioneering for its time. Its design and construction, spanning from 1944 to 1948, positioned it as one of the earliest high-rise residential buildings in the burgeoning Higienópolis area. Over the decades, architectural styles and urban needs evolved, leading to the necessity of modernizing key areas without compromising the building's historical integrity. Gui Paoliello Arquiteto took on this challenge, aiming to create a harmonious blend of the old and new.

The architects approached the renovation with a deep understanding of the building's historical significance and its prominent place within the urban fabric of São Paulo. Their work on the ground floor specifically addressed the challenges of updating an aging structure to meet modern demands while maintaining a dialogue with its original modernist design principles.
