Government officials in these regions are advising residents to limit travel and undertake necessary preparations for possible electricity disruptions. This severe weather event is attributed to the convergence of frigid air masses originating from Canada with warmer air currents from the southern regions, which is expected to result in notable accumulations of snow and ice.
